Celebrate Maryland’s 385th anniversary with ceremony, pageantry, speeches, and free admission to living history and museum exhibits.

10:00 a.m. — 4:00 p.m.  Enjoy living history at the Woodland Indian Hamlet, the reconstructed Town Center, the Maryland Dove, and the Godiah Spray Tobacco Plantation.  Explore the exhibits at the Mackall Barn; Van Sweringen’s Inn; reconstructed State House of 1676; and the reconstructed Brick Chapel of 1667, which features the crypt that houses the re-interred lead coffins of Philip Calvert and his family.

12:00 noon — 3:00 p.m.  Meet author Ellynne Brice Davis, and illustrator Joyce Judd, and have them sign a copy of their newest work, Whispers From the Colonial Past:  A Self-Guided Walking Tour For Visitors to Historic St. Mary’s City.

1:00 p.m. — 4:00 p.m.  Discover how archaeologists and historians pieced together bits of the past to reveal St. John’s legacy of liberty.  View some of the one million artifacts excavated from the site, and learn what they tell us about the people who once passed through St. John’s doors.

1:00 p.m.  Celebrate the 385th anniversary of Maryland’s founding with keynote speaker, Dr. Travis Parno; Cross Bottony award recipient, John McAllister; and the Ceremony of the Flags, which features students representing each of Maryland’s 23 counties and Baltimore City, and the Piscataway Conoy Tribe.

10:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m.  Satisfy your appetite with a range of vittles from Enso Artisan Bread & Bakery, located next to The Shop at Farthing’s Ordinary.  Enjoy a selection of freshly-made pastries, bread, cookies, coffee, drinks, and lunch sandwiches.
