Overview

Summer is the time for fun and adventure. HSMC offers a great outdoor environment for creative learning. Join us for our summer workshops; designed for kids with curious minds, who want to learn a new skill.

Designed for children ages 7-12

What is experimental archaeology? Experimental archaeology is a hands-on way to gather knowledge about how things were made long ago. With limited availability of primary sources, how did Maryland’s first residents use their environment to make tools, shelter, clothing, food, and recreation? Through discussions and hands-on activities using natural resources found in the area, participants in this workshop will try to re-create techniques of the past while learning new skills.

Space is limited, so registration is required.

Payment in full is due at time of registration: $25 per child ($15 Friends members)

Workshops take place rain or shine.
