Visiting Historic St. Mary’s City?
Demonstrations are 20 – 30 minutes in length.
Historic St. Mary’s City also offers daily tours:
Calvert House
2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
Experience a behind-the-scenes archaeology tour at the Calvert House dig site located at the Town Center of HSMC. The archaeological work is only the first step with the ultimate goal of creating a cutting-edge interpretive exhibit to be built on and around the Calvert House site.
A costumed interpreter will give an introduction to the site and then an archaeologist will invite the visitors to see the dig site and what they have discovered.
Changing Landscapes
1:00 p.m., Wednesday—Friday
Tour Length: 1 hour
Changing Landscapes tour will visit the Mill Field, where evidence of both Native occupation and the St. Mary’s Fort has been documented. Through the tour, guests will gain a better understanding of how these two groups interacted with each other over the course of the 1600s.
